One of Notre Dame’s primary defensive targets for the 2019
class is Fort Worth (Tex.) Nolan Catholic linebacker/defensive end NaNa Osafo-Mensah. The 4-star recruit is ranked as the
No. 7 weakside defensive end and the No. 110 recruit in the country by 247Sports.
On Sunday evening, the Fighting Irish staff received news that Osafo-Mensah will take an official visit to the school in
April, the weekend before the annual Blue-Gold Game. Making the trip with him will be his friend, Sachse (Tex.) defensive
tackle Hunter Spears.

Spears is a recent Notre Dame commit, pledging
to the Irish on Feb. 20, making him the fourth player in the 2019 class to give a verbal to the program.
As for Osafo-Mensah, he came away from the program’s junior day in January very impressed with what he saw and heard.
“Everything was honestly amazing up at Notre Dame,” he
told Irish Illustrated’s Tom Loy after the visit. “I felt like I’ve been here before because of the hospitality
given from everyone at Notre Dame.”
Along with Notre Dame, Osafo-Mensah’s top 10, released on Feb. 6, includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Texas
A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas.
He will make his college commitment on May 19.
